Matching Gifts

Many area employers (or their charitable foundations) match gifts made by their employees to charitable organizations. These companies match payments (not pledges). If your employer has such a program, follow the steps below to request a matching gift.  The Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas is a 501(c)3 organization.

If your employer matches gifts to religious organizations:

• Inquire in the personnel department regarding the availability of matching funds for your donation.
• Obtain a matching gift form from your company. There is no reason to attach a matching gift form from your employer to your pledge card unless you are including a check for an initial payment. Whenever you make a payment on your pledge, a matching gift form from your employer should accompany the payment.
• Make the check payable to the Archbishop's Call to Share.  Send the check and matching gift form to the Archbishop’s Call to Share, PO Box 2568, Shawnee Mission, KS 66201-2568 or place in the collection at Mass.
• The Archdiocese will complete the form and submit it to your employer requesting the matching gift.

If your employer matches gifts to educational or social service agencies but NOT to religious organizations:

• Inquire in the personnel department regarding the availability of matching funds for your donation.
• All your checks (initial payment and all future payments) must be payable to one of the educational institutions or social service agencies funded by the Archbishop’s Call to Share. For a list of funded agencies, visit www.calltoshare.org.
• Obtain a matching gift form from your company. There is no reason to attach a matching gift form from your employer to your pledge card unless you are including a check for an initial payment. Whenever you make a payment on your pledge, a matching gift form from your employer should accompany the payment.
• Send the check and matching gift form to the Archbishop’s Call to Share, PO Box 2568, Shawnee Mission, KS 66201-2568 or place in the collection at Mass.
• Your donation will be designated to the funds that your chosen agency receives from the Archbishop’s Call to Share.
• The Archdiocese will complete the matching gift form and submit it to your employer requesting the matching gift.
