What mother has not spent hours reading stories to her child? What grandfather has not spun that great tall tale for his grandson? What teacher has not passed on great stories of heroism and sainthood to the class? We love stories
Recently in a homily, Pope Francis said the Church is not an institution, but a story of love, and that we are part of it. Together, he went on to say, we are one family in the Church, who is our mother.
Catholics in northeast Kansas are invited to be part of this wonderful story. It is a story that has been told for two thousand years.
The annual Archbishop's Call to Share appeal invites everyone to join in supporting the many activities and ministries that reach people in every parish, every town and every neighborhood throughout the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. Through your prayers and sacrifices, you participate in helping to proclaim the Gospel and to pass on our Catholic Faith to the next generation.
Your sacrificial gift will help bring the love and mercy of Jesus Christ to others as we seek to proclaim our faith in spirit, word and deed. Your gift to the Archbishop's Call to Share is a concrete act of faith as you share your abundance and provide resources for countless acts of mercy and charity.
Each year at this time hundreds of your fellow parishioners come together to help make possible the many services and ministries reaching out everyday to those we serve. The Archbishop's Call to Share unites the entire Archdiocese in helping others. Please prayerfully consider a gift at this time.
Join me in continuing our tireless efforts on behalf of those we serve - the poor, the children, the aging, the lost and those abandoned. Let us ask our Mohter Mary, in the words of Pope Francis, "to give us the grace of spiritual joy to journey through this story of love."
Sincerely yours in Jesus, the Lord of Life,
Most Rev. Joseph F. Naumann
Archbishop of Kansas City in Kansas
